Karate START training sessions are moderate-intensity classes for children who are beginning their journey in Kyokushin karate. The programme is designed for children aged 6–10 who do not yet hold a karate belt (0 kyu) or have already achieved the beginner level – 10th or 9th kyu.

Training follows a consistent programme based on modern teaching methods and adapted to the children’s age and physical abilities.

During the training sessions, children:

  • learn the basic karate movements and stances;
  • develop coordination, concentration and breathing techniques;
  • learn to coordinate the movements of their arms, legs and entire body;
  • build self-confidence and develop respect for others.

Step by step, children build a strong foundation in karate, and by the middle of the season, they are already prepared to take their first 10th kyu belt examination.
To monitor children’s progress and support their overall development, we conduct physical fitness assessments twice per season. By analysing the results, we can provide targeted support and help children further develop their physical abilities.

What are the benefits of Karate START training?

Comprehensive physical development.
All major muscle groups are actively engaged during training, helping children develop flexibility, strength, endurance, agility, balance, coordination, reaction speed and power. It is not just a sport – it is a way to develop the whole body through movement.

Courage and self-confidence.
Competitions help children develop courage, perseverance and self-confidence – qualities that are valuable not only in sport, but also in everyday life.

Strength – both physical and mental.
While preparing for belt examinations, children learn to overcome anxiety, manage stress and respond quickly to unexpected situations. These skills are valuable when learning, taking exams or facing new challenges.

Goals and motivation.
The belt system gives children a clear way to see their progress, understand what they have already achieved and know what comes next. It encourages them to aim higher and teaches them to work consistently towards their goals.

Health and emotional well-being.
Regular training helps children improve not only their physical fitness, but also their emotional well-being. Movement, a sense of community and continuous progress all contribute to feeling good and confident.
